Dr. Robin Roberts, MBBS, FRCSC, MBA is a medical graduate of the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. He undertook his residency training in urology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He completed his Royal College of Canada certification examinations in 1986 and followed with a fellowship in renal transplantation.
Henri Ford
Henri R. Ford, M.D., MHA, became dean and chief academic officer of the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine on June 1, 2018. Dr. Ford is a Haitian-born pediatric surgeon who maintains close ties with his native country. In 2010, he traveled to Haiti after the earthquake to provide surgical care to children injured in the catastrophe. Since then, Dr. Ford has returned to Haiti regularly to provide medical care to its residents. In May 2015, he performed the first successful separation of conjoined twins in Haiti, alongside surgeons he helped train.
Mallory Willams
Dr. Mallory Williams is Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Trauma, Critical Care, and Surgical Nutrition at Howard University College of Medicine.He is the Trauma Medical Director of the American College of Surgeons Level I Trauma Center. He is board certified in general surgery and critical care. He is a cum laude graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Williams completed the Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and went on to train in general surgery at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan completing his residency as the Chief Administrative Surgery Resident. Frederick Hickling
Professor Frederick W. Hickling was born in Kingston Jamaica, in 1944. He attended the Wolmer’s Boys School on a Wolmer’s Foundation Scholarship, and subsequently pursued higher education in medicine and psychiatry at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Professor Hickling received specialist training in anatomy at St. Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, University of London, and postgraduate training in psychiatry at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, University of Edinburgh. Keva Bethell is an avid researcher who grew up in Nassau, Bahamas. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology (with a minor in Biochemistry) from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She earned her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Oklahoma, where she was inducted into the Xi chapter of Delta Omega Society, the public health honorary society. She has always had an affinity for research, but only considered it as a career after earning her BSc. She is the Clinical Director of The Discovery Clinic at The Renascence Institute International. Her Masters is in Clinical Community Counseling with a specialization in child & adolescent psychology, and her Doctorate is in Psychology with a specialization in Family Psychology. Clemon George PhD, joined the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Faculty of Medical Scienes in August 2017. Dr. George lectures in the Public Heath and the MBBS programmes.
Dr. George completed his Doctorate in Epidemiology at I’Université Laval, Québec, Canada and Post-doctoral research at St. Michael’s Hospital/ University of Toronto, Canada. His post-doctoral research involved developing Community Based Participatory Research in Epidemiology. Prior to his appointment at UWI, Dr. George was on the Faculty of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), teaching courses in Health Promotion, Epidemiology and Research Methods. At UOIT, his research focused on sexual health promotion, particularly HIV and STI prevention among minority populations in Canada. He has been involved in HIV research and advocacy for 15 years.
