Dr. Slomovitz is the Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is also the Co-leader of the Gynecologic Cancers Site Disease Group at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Fellowship Director for the Division. Prior to joining Sylvester, Dr. Slomovitz was an Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai of Medicine and Adjunct Associate Professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was also the Director of Cancer Research at Atlantic Health Systems in Northern New Jersey.
Dr. Slomovitz has a keen interest in applying the principles learned from the lab to the clinical setting. He is a principal investigator in a number of Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) clinical trials focusing on endometrial and vulvar cancer. He has authored or co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed articles and has lectured extensively.
Dr. Slomovitz received a Master’s degree from Georgetown University in 1993, graduated from medical school at the Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School in 1998, and completed his residency at New York Presbyterian – Cornell Medical Center in 2002. At the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, he completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology in 2006. He is board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology.
